Ken Chu (born on January 15,1979 in Taiwan and educated in Singapore) is a famous singer and composer. He is one of the members of the famous Taiwanese boy band F4 and also a prominent Taiwanese drama actor.
He had a difficult childhood when his mom was forced to send him to different families. He became a waiter in a Japanese restaurant and later discovered by a producer (the creator of the F4) who spotted him and asked him to have a makeover. He soon began landing small parts in film and television, then acting in several idol series successfully that pushed him to the center of the stage. He eventually starred in the famous TV series Meteor Garden and its sequel Meteor Garden II that swept Asia by storm and was the lead in the movies, Sky of Love (2003) and Tokyo Trial (2006).
In January 2005, he released his most anticipated solo album, entitled On Ken's Time. Treading on the solo path for the first time in his career, he sheds off his F4 idol-image for a while to offer his fans English-flavored rock n' roll via the album. He had been working on this long player for three years together with top musicians from Sandee Chen to David Tao. His hard work and patience were definitely showed in this album. His voice is borderline flat, but still hopeful and he definitely has room for growth. He has released his cookbook Delicious Relations in January 2006. In February 2007, he held his first solo concert in Japan, titled 2007 [I-KEN] 1st Concert at the Tokyo International Forum Hall A with an unplugged theme. He is now focusing on his solo acting career and has a huge fan base in Asia.
He is a multi-talented artist dabbling in photography, singing, and acting. He speaks not only Mandarin, but also English, Cantonese, Singlish and a bit of Thai, Indonesian and Japanese.
