Jade Kwan (born on July 31, 1979) is a well-known Cantopop singer in Hong Kong.

 

She entered the New Talent Singing Awards Vancouver Audition 1999 with the song "Face" originally sung by singer Faye Wong and was awarded first runner-up. As such, she represented Vancouver in the New Talent Singing Awards Canada Finals 1999 and won. She then competed in the New Talent Singing Awards International Finals 1999 (also representing Vancouver) and won the "Best Potential Newcomer Award". The International Finals was held in Shanghai, China.

 

Unlike many "singers" in Hong Kong in the past few years who started out in a modeling company, she emerged as a new-age genius with a sure-to-impress voice. Her singing talents were greatly admired and her albums promisingly received. Her first two albums, "Jade-1" and "Jade-2", won her reassuring gold records. Over the years, she has won many music industry awards in Hong Kong and China.

 

She is blessed with musical talents. She is a great natural singer with a great vocal range. Not only is she talented in singing, she also plays a few musical instruments including piano, guitar and saxophone. She minored in Music Composition while attending University of British Columbia in Canada.

 

Moreover, she is a devoted Christian, and has been quite active recently in the Christian community in Hong Kong. However, she has lost some of her initial popularity after the rumored boyfriends and rumored feuds have gone away.
