Music on Green Wave

Green Wave Art Troupe, established in 1959, is now an art troupe under Shanghai Telecom Company Limited. The troupe, with some 20 artists, gives a variety of performances including vocal music, instrumental music, dances, acrobatics and magic.

In 1993, the troupe participated the 38th International Folk Art Festival in Italy, as the sole Chinese group, and won the Gold Medal.

In September 2000, the troupe was active in a campaign of "Shanghai Telecom in Communities", giving more than 500 shows, drawing a wide audience of 750,000, as their expression of dedication and sincerity to the public.

In 2003, the troupe won honors of "Top Ten Stories of Workers' Civilized Activities in Shanghai" and "Top Ten Civilized Models in Shanghai" (nominated) and "Model Folk Art Troupe in Shanghai". 

In 2003, the troupe was invited to give performances for 11 Presidents or Prime Ministers visiting Shanghai, among them were Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee (Prime Minister of India), Mr. Berlusconi (Prime Minister of Italy), Mr. Roh Moo-hyun (President of Republic of Korea) and Kaspar Villiger (President of Switzerland).

For more than 40 years, Green Wave Art Troupe gave thousands of shows in Shanghai or other places of China and was chosen by the Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal Government as an art troupe invited to give performances for visiting Presidents or Prime Ministers of foreign countries.

First Wave

This CD is the first album of Green Wave Art Troupe. All the tasks, from project plan, music selection, scoring, playing, recording and production, were all performed by Green Wave artists or other people of Shanghai Telecom in their spare time.

This album is a selected collection of vocal and instrumental pieces of Green Wave Art Troupe.
